Job Summary

Own the core communications support stack from admin to content, coordinating briefs, CMS updates, event logistics, and media inquiries to keep external messaging consistent.

  • Administrative and data-management ownership: maintain databases, lists, and records to support communications workflow.
  • Content and channel execution: manage website updates and simple design tasks, draft and edit routine pieces for newsletters, press materials, and notices.
  • Operations and liaison: coordinate events, production schedules, vendor/ writer coordination, and respond to routine media inquiries.

Job Description

- Perform administrative/clerical duties in support of communications efforts, e.g., maintain databases, lists and records. - Manage website content and updates which may involve some graphic design or desktop publishing. - Coordinate mailings and calendar of events. - Produce multimedia files, presentations, audio/video recordings, photographs. - Draft, write, edit, and proofread communications pieces, e.g., articles for publications, newsletters, press releases, and general announcements typically of simple, general, or routine nature. - Work with a combination of internal and external communication materials. - Support data gathering and/or draft communications in relation to routine inquiries from the media. - Conduct research and fact finding to assist in developing content for communication pieces. - Coordinate logistics for internal and/or external special events or functions, e.g., open houses, exhibits, campus tours, orientations, dinners, conferences and may staff those functions. - Monitor, facilitate and coordinate production and distribution of communication pieces, including production schedule, layout, interface with vendors, writers, freelance writers and photographers.
