Job Summary

Own multi-channel content and social marketing with a focus on visual storytelling, event support, and audience engagement for a cultural council.

  • Content Engine: Create and publish on social, website, and email, and measure results for ongoing optimization.
  • Campaign & Events: Support email campaigns, digital promotions, and events including activations and media events.
  • Asset & Admin Ops: Maintain digital assets and provide departmental support to keep marketing programs on track.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develops, writes, edits, and publishes engaging content for the Council's social media channels, website, email communications, and other digital platforms, as well as monitoring, responding and measuring results.
  • Collaborates with team members to execute the Council's email marketing strategy, including drafting, designing, scheduling, and analyzing campaigns.
  • Maintains and updates content across the Council's website, including event listings, news, visual and other digital assets.
  • Captures and edits photography and short-form video content for social media, events, exhibitions, and other Council initiatives.
  • Supports the Council's cultural tourism marketing plan by assisting with promotions, activations, campaigns, influencer familiarization tours, and tourism-related digital content.
  • Assists with exhibition openings, community programs, media events, and other special events, including occasional evening and weekend assignments.
  • Provides general administrative support to the Marketing and Communications Department, which may include processing invoices and maintaining department records.
  • Participates in staff and department meetings and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with website management, preferably WordPress.
  • Knowledge of email marketing platforms, preferably Constant Contact.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

Preferred

  • One to three years of experience in communications, marketing, social media, digital content, public relations, or a related field (preferred).
  • Knowledge of or interest in the arts, culture, tourism, or nonprofit sector (preferred).
  • Portfolio of writing and/or digital content samples will be requested.

Sharf Visitor Information Center; and the outdoor Project Space, offering the best view of the building’s iconic Martin Luther King Jr. mural by Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra.
