Job Summary

Own and coordinate CHS communications to build brand awareness and engage families, alumni, and staff across email, digital, print, and social channels, while supporting enrollment and community-building.

  • Content and multimedia: develop and curate compelling content (video, photography, graphics) and manage a robust social calendar to amplify CHS messaging.
  • Collaboration and delivery: partner with administration and faculty to align messaging across websites, emails, newsletters, and print collateral for recruitment, fundraising, and engagement.
  • Measurement and optimization: establish success metrics, monitor KPIs, and refine content strategy to grow audiences and improve future efforts.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Chestnut Hill School is seeking a Communications Associate to support the school's efforts to build brand awareness, engage the school community, and strengthen constituent relations.
  • They will be responsible for curating compelling content to support CHS's messaging plan, strengthening the school's image, and engaging current parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and others through email, digital, and print channels.
  • The Associate will work collaboratively with school administration and faculty.
  • They will be able to prioritize among multiple demands and deadlines, pay meticulous attention to detail, and demonstrate team spirit, a strong work ethic, and a sense of humor.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Strategic Communications & Digital Media to coordinate daily email messaging to internal families
  • Serve as an additional in-house graphic designer and develop compelling multimedia content across CHS's digital marketing channels to support brand awareness as well as recruitment, fundraising, and community-building. This may include: websites, social media posts and ads, emails, newsletters, videos, photography, graphics, and print collateral
  • Collaborate to develop strategies to increase the visibility of content; establish success metrics, monitor KPIs, and assess digital-marketing efforts to grow audiences and improve future efforts
  • Help develop content as needed for the Enrollment Team and print/digital marketing needs
  • Develop and maintain a robust social media content calendar, in coordination with the larger editorial content calendar and academic calendar
  • Create video content for web and social media use
  • Help photograph school events and maintain photo archives

Requirements

  • BA/BS in journalism, communications, graphic design, or related field
  • 1-3 years of marketing/communications experience
  • Strong design and creative skills, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
  • Ability to build and expand a brand's social media presence in support of institutional goals, to engage and grow audiences, and to develop innovative content (including for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
  • Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and how to apply them to content strategy
  • Ability to capture short-form video content
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of SEO principles, Google Analytics, Finalsite, or other content management systems preferred
