Job Summary

Own the social and messaging engine for a policy-focused institute, turning research into clear, engaging updates and campaigns across five platforms.

  • Social and voice ownership: Manage X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube with consistent messaging and engagement.
  • Content strategy and production: Help shape comms plans, draft newsletters, website updates, and research summaries; create compelling multimedia assets.
  • Measurement and governance: Track performance and maintain organized asset documentation for ongoing improvement.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the Institute’s presence on social media platforms, ensuring consistent voice and engagement (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube).
  • Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies that advance the Institute’s mission and key initiatives.
  • Draft, edit, and refine written content, including newsletters, website updates, and research summaries.
  • Plan and create multimedia content (graphics, video clips) to support projects and engage new audiences.
  • Track communications performance and metrics; contribute insights for ongoing improvement.
  • Maintain organized documentation of communications assets.
  • Collaborate with staff and contractors to ensure consistent voice and visual design across products.

Requirements

  • 0-3+ years of experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex research and policy content into clear, engaging messages.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A strong interest in state policy and alignment with free market ideas.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience in a policy, research, nonprofit, or think tank setting.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, WordPress, MailChimp, Social Media Platforms, and Canva.
  • Knowledge of current affairs and policy issues related to human flourishing (economics, psychology, and culture).
