Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Communications Assistant will serve as the primary media contact for multiple sports within the department as well as contributing to the overall storytelling and content strategies to promote a positive image for Utah Athletics under the direction of the Senior Associate A.D. for Strategic Communications.
  • Demonstrated experience in athletics communications
  • Experience working with media to position sport programs for positive media coverage
  • Knowledge of and the ability to: Create engaging social media content, creatively produce and manage the design, layout, content and flow of multiple publications for multiple platforms (web, e-mail, digital audio & video, digital photography, graphics, social media and print)

Requirements

  • 4 Year Degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communications, English, Liberal Arts, or a related area, or equivalency required.

Preferred

  • Experience in desktop publishing, word processing, computer networks and web page design preferred.
  • Experience in public relations work or the print news media also preferred.
