Responsibilities

• Engage with community members face-to-face through door-to-door canvassing to promote programs or services
• Utilize mobile devices to record interactions, update records, and communicate with team members in real-time
• Conduct outdoor outreach activities in various neighborhoods, parks, or public spaces while maintaining safety protocols
• Build rapport with diverse audiences through conversational engagement and active listening
• Assist in fundraising efforts by explaining project benefits and encouraging participation or donations
• Coordinate with team supervisors to ensure coverage of assigned areas and meet daily outreach goals
• Use negotiation and communication skills to address questions, overcome objections, and foster community trust

Requirements

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage in friendly, face-to-face conversations
• Ability to walk extensively outdoors and work effectively in various weather conditions
• Comfortable using mobile devices for data entry and communication purposes
• Experience in community engagement, fundraising, or outdoor work enhances effectiveness in this role

Preferred

• Previous experience in canvassing, telemarketing, sales, or customer service is a plus but not required
• Supervising or leadership experience is beneficial for those interested in growth opportunities
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued for engaging diverse communities
