Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist with media relations efforts for assigned sports, including writing and editing press releases, game previews and recaps, updating rosters and bios, and maintaining accurate statistics, records, and historical information.
  • Support home and select away events, including statistics coordination, media credentialing, postgame/meet results distribution, and serving as a point of contact for coaches, student-athletes, and media.
  • Assist with general Athletic Communications office duties, including archival projects, research, record-keeping, and support of additional sports and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a college or professional athletics communication office.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Some evening and weekend work required based on competition schedules.

Preferred

  • Two-plus years of experience in athletic communications, sports information, journalism, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with football operations and general knowledge of multiple sports.
  • Basic knowledge of NCAA rules and college athletics operations.
  • Experience with statistics software (e.g., StatCrew, Genius) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of or prior experience with the University of Colorado preferred; former student-assistants and athletes encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite.
