Job Summary

Own athletics communications for varsity programs, turning game coverage, digital storytelling and social listening into branded visibility while staying NCAA compliant.

  • Communications & Game Ops: manage stats input, post game reporting, recaps, previews, and press outreach for assigned sports.
  • Content & Social: plan live event coverage, publish photos, video, graphics, and student-athlete spotlights across social channels and the website.
  • People & Collaboration: supervise student workers, align with coaches and admins on events, fundraising, and community programs.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University’s Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
  • Serve as the primary athletic communications contact for assigned varsity sports, which may include Men’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, or other varsity programs. Responsibilities include writing game recaps, previews, feature stories, press releases, and assisting with media relations and event coverage.
  • Attend assigned home athletic events to manage statistical input, post-event reporting, historical records, and game operations in accordance with NCAA and conference standards.
  • Assist with planning, creating, and publishing digital content across athletics social media and website platforms, including live event coverage, photography, graphics, short-form video, and promotional content supporting departmental branding and student-athlete recognition.
  • Help monitor social media engagement and analytics to support strategic communications efforts.
  • Assist in supervising and coordinating student workers assigned to athletic communications and game day operations.
  • Collaborate with coaches, administrators, and external relations staff to promote athletic achievements, special events, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement efforts.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain full compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies and procedures.
