Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of content creation, including conceptualizing ideas, negotiating fees, coordinating shoots, capturing and editing content, and managing stakeholder approvals.
  • Partner closely with audiobook producers, marketers, social media managers and editorial team to align multimedia assets with broader campaign goals.
  • Execute end-to-end studio photoshoots by directing talent, managing logistics, and capturing high-impact visual content that aligns with brand standards.
  • Maintain calendars, track production assignments, and ensure all projects meet high standards for quality and brand consistency.
  • Create and deliver optimized assets for social media, email marketing, and retail platforms, ensuring technical specifications are met for each outlet.
  • Act as an internal subject matter expert, providing guidance to colleagues on multimedia best practices, performance analytics, and digital trends.
  • Experiment with emerging formats, technologies, and storytelling techniques to keep Macmillan Audio at the forefront of digital trends.
  • Continuously improve production workflows and file management to increase team efficiency.

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of professional experience in multimedia production, content creation, or a closely related field.
  • College degree or equivalent professional experience required
  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Premiere Pro, Express, Photoshop, Lightroom, and After Effects), familiarity with DAWs (Reaper, ProTools, Audacity), and basic audio engineering skills.
  • Visual Storytelling: Skills in photography and videography, including a strong eye for framing, lighting, composition and studio staging.
  • Post-Production: Photo retouching and video editing skills, with a focus on creating "thumb-stopping" content for social platforms.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse departments.
  • Platform Expertise: Understanding of social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, etc.), specs, and the specific content styles that drive engagement on each.
  • Relationship Management: An approachable yet firm working style with a knack for building instant rapport; comfortable serving as the primary point of contact for talent and their representatives to negotiate terms and ensure a seamless creative experience.
  • Organization: Detail-oriented with superb organizational and time-management skills; able to self-direct and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Industry Passion: A strong interest in the audiobook landscape and a knack for translating audio-first products into compelling visual stories.
