Job Summary

Own daily activity delivery and care-goal coordination for residents, aligning recreation and engagement with the care team to boost mood, participation, and well-being.

  • Daily activities: run scheduled programs and monitor resident involvement.
  • Care planning: collaborate on resident goals and relay mood and behavior signals to the team.
  • Event support: help plan, set up, and transport for facility activities and community events.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Document daily participation of residents in scheduled programs
  • Promote the social, physical, and intellectual well-being of our residents.
  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing the recreation programs of the facility.
  • Participate in community marketing events as needed
  • Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire team.
  • Communicate the residents' mood, behavior, or degree of involvement to the appropriate team members.
  • Perform administrative requirements as needed, such as audits, forms, and reports.
  • Help set up, break down, and decorate for resident and facility events.
  • Assist and transport residents to and from daily scheduled activities

Requirements

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • As a minimum, one (1) year experience in an Activities Department in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility is preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Must have patience, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
  • Must participate in continuing education and inservice training.
