Responsibilities

  • Lead development of large-scale strategies along with teammates
  • Drive client communications daily: setting expectations, escalating urgent needs, building and maintaining strong relationships, etc.
  • Manage junior staff on each account you lead, strategically influencing deliverables’ quality and staff development by delegating, modeling smart practices and providing feedback
  • Manage up to build strong, effective relationships with senior team leaders to understand their goals, communication styles and needs, providing proactive solutions to work together toward success.
  • Coordinate across internal and external teams to deploy integrated services (media relations, digital advertising, research) to meet your clients’ goals
  • Conceptualize and drive new story angles and other media opportunities for clients: such as ideating and landing feature stories during news lulls, or drafting a persuasive and compelling pitch on behalf of a client for a high-profile interview, award or conference
  • Work closely with senior team leaders on capacity planning to ensure that the team is running efficiently
  • Contribute to business development and growth efforts

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of strategic communications experience: in-house, media or journalism; PR agency experience preferred
  • Deep in media relations in real estate, business, corporate communications, executive thought leadership and urbanism
  • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to provide examples of materials that clearly demonstrate these capabilities
  • At least 1 year of experience managing teams
  • Versatile writer who is comfortable and well-versed in writing professional, on-brand materials for clients
  • Savviness and creativity in media relations and pitching, social media content ideation and influencer engagement with the knowledge to identify new targets and thoughtful angles until the story lands
  • Ability to confidently communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, with varying levels of staff, clients, the media and is comfortable thinking on their feet
  • Organized and adept to working in a fast-paced environment with the capability to handle multiple assignments at once and still meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to become a savvy and nimble student of the “news” and quickly identify new media opportunities and narratives to insert our clients’ voices into the news cycle
  • Passion and an insatiable curiosity for the built environment and all things real estate
