Rose Bruford College

Rose Bruford College is a specialist conservatoire training the next generation of artists, makers, technicians, and thinkers across the creative industries. We were founded in 1950 by three women, Rose Bruford, Edith Scorer, and Mary Henniker-Heaton, who built something new because the existing higher education providers were not set up for what they wanted to do. That founding instinct, to make excellent creative education work differently, still shapes the College today. We are a higher education institution with degree-awarding powers, offering Foundation, Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught, and Postgraduate Research provision. Our programmes span design, screen, broadcast, gaming, immersive practice, performance, directing, writing, technical production, lighting, sound, and creative research. Our students and graduates design for screen, build worlds in gaming companies, perform on stage and on camera, and work on major productions across the global creative industries. We operate on conservatoire values: selectivity, intensity, industry connection, and globally recognised training. Our campus sits in protected parkland in Sidcup, south-east London. The Grade II listed manor house, 600-year-old oak trees, and green space make it unlike any other London conservatoire. We seek creative potential wherever it exists, then nurture it to professional excellence. The work is demanding because the work matters.
