Job Summary

Own global corporate comms across product launches, press, and thought leadership, aligning with business units and markets while building the Dyson difference into growth via cross-functional storytelling and regional enablement.

  • Communications Ownership: Lead end-to-end campaigns, from strategy to execution, to drive earned press and influencer coverage aligned to commercial goals.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Advise directors and leadership across marketing and comms, ensuring integrated messaging in all markets.
  • People and Process Leadership: Model and develop the global team, manage budgets and resources, and drive regional expansion of initiatives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • You will lead Communications activities end-to-end, from strategic planning to execution of campaigns with a focus on driving earned press and influencer coverage to 1) support commercial priorities and 2) drive storytelling/thought leadership narratives.
  • Leadership: A strong contributor to the Global Communications team demonstrating leadership in the ‘how’ and ‘what’ we communicate, playing a proactive role in evolving our approach and developing our people.
  • Be an engaged leader in the product communications team. Show involvement across all departments to maximise integration of communications in the wider business in all markets.
  • Demonstrate high business acumen and understanding of Dyson. Provide strategic communications advice to the Directors of the Business Units and the Leadership teams of the Marketing and Communications functions.
  • Manage budgets to ensure efficiencies across our global work and secure the tools and resources to carry out local and global launch events.
  • Drive a comprehensive program to advance Dyson’s mission and goals across product and internal communications. Launching products often involving project management of events, sustaining launch momentum, press office, thought leadership and Global Commercial team engagement.
  • Contribute to the wider Communications community by regularly expanding your remit to regional and local projects (for major markets).
  • Plan and implement the Communications strategy for Dyson Floorcare with a focus on maximising exposure and impact on the consumer benefits of Dyson products underpinned with our problem-solving approach, our creative campaign approach, our products, people and places, and the Dyson philosophy
  • Maximize each narrative to build Dyson’s reputation and desirability as a global technology company with products that deliver advanced performance and long-term value.
  • Motivate and manage the regional and market teams to grow share of voice across the world, allowing us to compete effectively with our key rivals in the Floorcare space.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Operate independently with strong accountability for results, balancing strategic planning with tactical implementation.
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in a role focused on communications – either in-house, agency side as part of a fast-paced, agile and change driven industry.
  • Analytical skills and ability to distil information with a focus on quality and detail, rather than quantity.
  • Ability to build and effect change - at both a people and process level.
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in building relationships with top tier internal stakeholders, and in successfully creating global campaigns to achieve commercial success.
  • Superior management skills, particularly when project managing events; proven ability to influence and engage people up, down, and across the organization in order to bring about change.
