Job Summary

Own the brand and design system, lead the design desk, and deliver marketing assets across email, events, and digital channels while collaborating with leadership to uphold brand standards.

  • Protect and evolve the brand and templates
  • Coordinate design requests, priorities, and stakeholder communication
  • Deliver marketing assets across web, email, events, and campaigns

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own the brand. Build and look after our design system in Figma (or another design tool you are confident in). Be the guardian of the Tech Educators and TechYouth brands, and create templates that let the team stay on brand without asking you every time.
  • Run the design desk. You'll be the go-to person for design across the business. Take briefs, agree priorities with the Chief Marketing Officer, track work in ClickUp and coach colleagues to do the simple things themselves.
  • Design desk and design system (60%): you'll build the system, run the requests and deliver the creation of the marketing assets.
  • Email design (25%): templates and campaigns that people actually open, with a focus on TechFirst Youth
  • Events and performance (15%): event materials, monthly insight and keeping up with trends
  • Make great work everywhere. Web pages, LinkedIn and Meta content, short animations, slide decks, workbooks, flyers, banners and merchandise. Bring your own ideas to campaigns, and use AI tools like Gemini and Claude to move faster without cutting corners.
  • Make email work harder. Build modular, on-brand templates in HubSpot, design campaigns that get people clicking, and test what works.
  • Show up at events. Design the stands, decks and materials that make us stand out at industry events.
  • Design for everyone. Accessibility isn't an afterthought here. Every student should be able to read and use what we make.

Requirements

  • A portfolio of creative, well-made digital and print work, including social media and presentations
  • Confidence in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, and comfort using Canva (or other design tools)
  • Experience of working with brand guidelines, templates or component libraries
  • An eye for what makes a great email
  • The calm to juggle lots of requests and explain design decisions to people who aren't designers
  • A genuine interest in helping people into tech careers
  • Marketing Design: 1 year (required)
  • Driving Licence (required)
  • United Kingdom (required) work authorisation
  • Work Location: In person

Preferred

  • HubSpot email experience
  • motion design skills (After Effects or Figma prototyping)
  • building a design system from scratch
  • knowledge of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • experience in education or the charity sector.
