Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the team
  • Lead the integration of the marketing and business development teams into a cohesive unit with shared goals, processes, and culture.
  • Create a team culture where people feel safe to contribute
  • Create an environment where different working and thinking styles are genuinely valued, and where every team member understands how their contribution connects to the bigger picture.
  • Set clear expectations, support development, and manage performance fairly and thoughtfully
  • Handle team challenges calmly and constructively
  • Marketing & Brand
  • Drive a brand awareness strategy that builds credibility and long-term trust, prioritising reputation over short-term conversion metrics.
  • Provide strategic campaign management and oversee the team’s development and execution of marketing campaigns, content, and communications that reflect our mission and values.
  • Champion the voice and visibility of our network partners through our marketing channels, ensuring they are represented authentically and with pride.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience working in both marketing and business development roles, enough to hold credibility with both teams and make informed decisions across both disciplines.
  • Experience of managing and developing teams, particularly in environments that require nuanced, people-centred leadership.
  • Experience leading or merging teams through change, with a track record of building cohesion from different starting points.
  • Confidence operating in a brand-led, trust-focused environment rather than a high-pressure sales environment.
  • Experience working with or within government or public sector contexts, or with organisations that serve government as a key client.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with network or partner-based delivery models, understanding the commercial and relational dynamics of supporting smaller businesses.
  • Experience developing marketing support programmes or capacity-building resources for external organisations or partners.
  • An understanding of procurement and relationship cycles in public sector or regulated environments.
