Job Description

Responsibilities

  • We'll need you to produce, implement and project manage a wide range of external and internal communications strategies to support the council’s priorities, working closely with Communications Officers, Designers and the Digital Team to develop and implement integrated communication strategies.
  • You'll be co-ordinating the work of the Communications Officers and designing and presenting campaign proposals to members and officers in a persuasive and effective manner and provides sound communications advice.
  • One of the projects the successful candidate will work on is HDRC (Health Determinants Research Collaboration). The successful candidate will need to get up to speed quickly with a complex project that has a wide range of audiences and stakeholders. Experience of communicating on this type of project would be beneficial.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Campaign experience – is able to design, deliver and evaluate effective communications campaigns to a wide range of audiences
  • Creative and production knowledge – experience of creative development and producing communications materials.
  • Event delivery experience – planning, developing and delivering events.
  • Research and evaluation skills – using market research and interpreting evidence to shape communications.
  • Worked in a large or complex organisation – proven ability to deliver communications in a large or complex organisation.
  • The ability to prioritise – can manage workload, competing demands and conflicting pressures.
  • Strategy and supervision experience – developing strategies/implementation plans and supervising staff.

Preferred

  • Experience of HDRC (Health Determinants Research Collaboration) would be beneficial.
