Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The appointee will teach undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide service to the discipline in line with the evolving needs and aspirations of the Faculty and University.
  • Core duties include development and provision of innovative and inclusive teaching in relevant areas of Business at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and professional service commensurate to career stage.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with active interests in the relationship of Business to one or more of the following areas: Marketing, International Business, Innovation, sustainability, and ethics.
  • We particularly encourage applications from those with an interest in innovative teaching, learning and assessment; those with experience of supporting a wide variety of students; and those belonging to groups underrepresented in UK higher education.

Requirements

  • PhD completed or equivalent professional experience in a relevant area
  • Teaching competency in Marketing and related areas at Levels 4–7 (i.e. both undergraduate and postgraduate levels)
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Excellent IT skills and evidence of supporting the integration of technologies into learning and teaching
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills

Preferred

  • FHEA status, or equivalent, achieved or expected (Desirable)
  • Ability to develop excellent educational provision in areas with significant appeal to students, including at postgraduate level and delivering courses on the US educational system, and with a focus on experiential learning (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of the US educational system and student expectations would be advantageous.
