Job Summary

Own a hands-on admin and communications role that blends operations, social content creation, and fundraising support to keep a charity running and engaging its community.

  • Administrative & Operations: Own day-to-day admin, database upkeep, records management, meeting prep, and basic reporting.
  • Content & Social: Create posts for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok; schedule/publish; monitor engagement.
  • Communications & Fundraising Support: Assist campaigns, collect impact data, and produce newsletters or donor communications.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to general enquiries received via email.
  • Maintain and organise electronic documents, records, and policies.
  • Assist with updating databases, contact lists, and organisational records.
  • Support staff with administrative tasks as required.
  • Help prepare meeting documents, agendas, and minutes where appropriate.
  • Create engaging social media content for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Schedule and publish social media posts in line with the organisation's communications plan.
  • Promote youth activities, events, fundraising campaigns, community projects, and organisational achievements.
  • Source and organise photographs, videos, and success stories from programmes.
  • Monitor social media engagement and highlight opportunities to increase reach and engagement.

Requirements

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Experience using social media platforms professionally or personally.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • An interest in community, youth, charity, or voluntary sector work.

Preferred

  • Experience using Mailchimp or similar email marketing software.
  • Experience creating social media graphics using Canva or similar platforms.
  • Experience working within a charity, community organisation, or educational setting.
  • Basic understanding of data collection and reporting.
  • Photography, video editing, or content creation skills.
