Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Build the organisation’s reputation and reach through strong internal and external communications.
  • Lead stakeholder communications for campaigns, projects and partnership PR initiatives.
  • Develop narratives, write and edit copy, and shape content for a wide range of audiences and channels.
  • Manage internal communications activity.
  • Act as communications lead for events such as the AGM.
  • Maintain an integrated communications calendar and support KPI reporting for communications outputs.
  • Provide storytelling, reputation positioning and science communication support across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Experience managing internal and external communications across different channels and audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of stakeholder communications, relationship management and campaign delivery.
  • A proven track record of writing and editing reader-friendly articles, publications and reports.
  • Experience developing storytelling and reputation-positioning narratives, including translating scientific or technical content for general audiences.
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail and time management.
  • Confidence working under scrutiny, particularly where reputation or media interest is involved.

Preferred

  • It would also be helpful if you have experience with SharePoint intranet management, e-news design or distribution tools, social and digital media, environmental issues, marine conservation, or professional PR and communications qualifications.
