Job Description

Responsibilities

  • As Oxfam's Social Media Manager, you will play a central role in shaping how our audiences experience, understand and engage with our mission. You will lead the day-to-day planning, delivery and optimisation of social media activity, and champion community and engagement across our social channels — building and nurturing the relationships that sit at the heart of our campaigning, fundraising and public engagement work.
  • You will be responsible for aligning daily social content with core activity and brand messaging, maintaining high standards across all channels, and ensuring best-practice approaches are consistently applied.
  • Working closely with teams across Oxfam, you will help bring our work to life online, grow meaningful engagement, and support the impact of our campaigns and income-generating activity.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of major social media platforms and their technical requirements, ideally including those where community engagement thrives, such as Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Experience of planning, delivering and project-managing social media activity on behalf of a brand or organisation.
  • Experience of building and managing engaged communities, responding to audiences and creating content that drives action.
  • Strong copywriting, content creation, editing and communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone, messaging and formats to different channels and audiences.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work to deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.
  • We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

Benefits

  • We offer a competitive salary and a range of additional benefits to staff including flexible working options, generous pension scheme, annual leave, additional leave allowances, company sick pay, life assurance and a range of other benefits.
  • From the day you join Oxfam we invite you to stretch and learn in your role. Our wide range of Learning & Development opportunities includes in-house courses, e-learning modules, on-the job learning opportunities, coaching and mentoring, and much more.
  • Flexfam: We believe flexible working is key to building the Oxfam of the future, so we’re open to talking through the type of flexible arrangements which might work for you.
