Job Summary

Own community marketing and engagement across campaigns, content, media relations, events, and inclusive outreach for the Swindon Place partnership.

  • Campaigns and content: plan and run marketing programs that reach hard-to-engage residents and stakeholders.
  • Media and partnerships: build local media relations and coalitions to gain buy-in for council projects.
  • Digital presence and events: manage social, website updates, and on-site/event engagement to boost visibility and participation.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing and communications campaigns to promote council events and projects with an aim of engaging harder to reach members of our communities.
  • Produce engaging content for various channels including press releases, newsletters, leaflets, and digital platforms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local media and influential organisations to attract buy-in for the council’s projects and activities from community stakeholders.
  • Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed to ensure effectiveness.
  • Manage and grow the social media presence of Parish Council events and projects using a variety of platforms, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and accessible.
  • Plan and schedule content for council events and activities across platforms, responding to public comments and queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor social media trends and community feedback to improve engagement and visibility.
  • Update the Parish Council’s website and listings to ensure all activities are promoted.
  • Plan and deliver engagement activities to connect with local community groups, employers, residents and stakeholders.
  • Attend and represent the council at internal and external community events and outreach activities, promoting awareness and understanding of council events and projects.

Requirements

  • Vehicle required for some duties.
  • Hours: 37 hours per week; Evening and weekend work will be required.
