Job Summary

Own a globally scoped institutional marketing function with P&L-like ownership, collaborating with regional sales to drive scalable programs and ROI across researchers, librarians, funders and learned societies.

  • Own and deliver the global institutional marketing strategy aligned to sales and business objectives.
  • Lead a global team and partner with regional Sales across Americas, EMEA and Rest of World to synchronize priorities and execution.
  • Turn marketing tech and data into measurable ROI to prove impact and optimize budgets.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a modern, digitally enabled global institutional marketing organisation
  • Own and deliver the global institutional marketing strategy, aligned to sales and business objectives
  • Oversee all institutional marketing plans, including transformative agreement onboarding and engagement
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership across Americas, EMEA and Rest of World to align priorities and execution
  • Manage and develop a global team (4 direct reports; 11 colleagues overall), fostering accountability, collaboration and high performance
  • Drive effective use of marketing technology and data to deliver measurable ROI
  • Ensure delivery of marketing activity to budget, timelines and agreed objectives
  • Work closely with Content & Engagement Marketing to maximise impact across institutional audiences

Requirements

  • Degree‑level education (marketing qualification desirable but not essential)
  • Extensive experience of journal publishing and global institutional marketing
  • Strong understanding of the challenges facing researchers, librarians, funders and learned societies
  • A proven track record of delivering growth through strategic marketing initiatives
  • Experience leading and developing global teams
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Confidence operating across cultures, regions and senior stakeholder groups
