Job Summary

Own the end-to-end email program and partner communications to inform and engage customers while driving continuous optimization across creative, journeys, and database health.

  • Email program ownership: annual planner, automated journeys, performance reporting.
  • Content and partnerships: partner emails, post-event tactics, collaboration with design and site/app updates.
  • Data, ED&I, and sustainability: monitor unsubscribes/engagement, CDP reporting, and ensure inclusive messaging across comms.

Responsibilities\n
  • Support the Senior Marketing Manager with the development and implementation of the annual email planner, incorporating key dates, milestones and deadlines to ensure the customer journey is informative and engaging – with a constant focus on driving continuous improvement in our creative and email tactics
  • Building and sending ‘customer service emails’ and commercial solus emails – ensuring copy, design and content is on brand, informative and adheres to email best practice. Work with the Senior Marketing Manager & Marketing Manager to build upon the existing customer email journey by creating and maintaining effective automated journeys and strategies
  • Reporting and analysis of email campaigns – conduct regular email campaign reporting to ensure campaigns perform above benchmarks and identifying opportunities to improve future campaigns, whilst also actively contributing to the ongoing development of our Customer Data Platform
  • Work closely with Commercial department on the delivery of partner email rights; provide guidance on best performing content, deliver reporting & analysis of partner email campaign performance, and provide feedback to drive future campaign improvements
  • Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to monitor overall database health and key metrics (i.e. unsubscribe rates, engagement, database numbers), identifying strengths & weaknesses, and suggesting improvements to structures and tactics
  • Support the Marketing Manager with sales focussed content and tactics within post-event emails, to drive increased retention rates and overall brand loyalty, ensuring there are clear strategies applied to database segments.
  • Work closely with project teams and the graphic design team to create and collate all customer comms / runner info (messaging & digital assets), that are used across email, web & social channels – including the creation of a digital event guides and spectator guides
  • Work alongside the Website Manager to ensure the website and app are kept up to date at all times with key customer messages – to include blog content uploads, event information updates, event guide uploads, app tile updates, and app push notifications
  • Support the development and implementation of ED&I, sustainability and Junior and Mini event initiatives, ensuring key & relevant messages are incorporated into all aspects of customer comms

  • Whilst we operate a hybrid working model with our headquarters in Gateshead, there will be a requirement to travel throughout the UK as a requirement for the role.
