Job Summary

Own the end-to-end proposal process for group benefits, from RFP issuance and bid solicitation to rate negotiation and client-ready proposals, while maintaining carrier relationships and market awareness.

RFP & Bid Management: issue, follow up, and coordinate timely, specification-compliant proposals.
Carrier & Market Navigation: solicit, evaluate, and present quotes and plan options to the client team; stay current on regulatory and product changes.
Relationship & Process Ownership: maintain carrier partnerships and ensure data integrity across proposals.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Creates and sends requests for proposals (RFPs) to carriers, including follow-up as necessary;
Solicits bids for clients from carriers and vendors;
Monitors receipt of bids to ensure that the quotes are timely and are to specification;
Communicates negotiated rate and plan design alternatives to the respective client service team member;
Creates accurate and consistently formatted proposals;
Reviews peer proposals for accuracy;
Develops and maintains carrier relationships;
Keeps abreast of legislative, market and product changes;
Attends and actively participates in marketing meetings;
Flexibility to work long hours during busy season, if needed;

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
One (1) or more years experience working for a group insurance carrier or benefits brokerage firm
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good problem solving, planning, organizational and prioritization skills
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Strong multi-tasking skills with high level attention to detail
Ability to interface with executives – internal and external
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
