Job Summary

Own the social content engine for a statewide nonprofit, turning participant stories and events into consistent, on-brand storytelling across multiple platforms while keeping a tight calendar and measuring engagement.

Content & storytelling: interview participants, draft posts, newsletters, blogs, and website copy.
Social & engagement: plan across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, monitor metrics, and adapt to trends.
Campaigns & branding: help create promo assets, support events, and maintain brand consistency with performance tracking.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Write engaging social media posts highlighting participant success stories, events, and organizational updates.
Assist in drafting newsletters, blogs, website content, and email communications.
Interview program participants and alumni to develop compelling stories demonstrating program impact.
Support the creation of promotional materials for programs and events.
Assist with planning and scheduling content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
Monitor engagement and recommend strategies to increase audience reach.
Research current social media trends and identify opportunities to improve engagement.
Help maintain an organized content calendar.
Design graphics using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Capture photos and video during Generation WV events and trainings.

Requirements

Current college student or recent graduate pursuing Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
Experience using Canva and Google workspace is a plus.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
Passion for West Virginia and Generation WV's mission.
