Job Description

Responsibilities

Planning, coordinating and executing agency work in support of assigned clients
Managing deadlines and working within account teams to contribute ideas and execute tasks, including:
Media relations
Writing press releases and media materials in AP Style
Developing media lists and distributing press releases and other media materials
Pitching stories to the media
Preparing clients for media interviews and staffing client media engagements
Monitoring and analyzing media coverage and social media; preparing reports for internal teams or clients
Communications to support community engagement activities:
Conveying technical information in plain language for public audiences

Requirements

Four to six years of experience in public relations, communications, community engagement or related fields.
Strong candidates will have experience working in corporate or government communications, community engagement and/or agency roles.

Preferred

Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills for a variety of channels
Strong interpersonal skills — collaborative, confident, professional, friendly and poised
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to multitask and meet daily deadlines; experience with project management software is a plus
Enthusiasm for taking on tasks across all levels of the organization to best serve clients
Eager to communicate inclusively, remove barriers and build relationships with people from all backgrounds
Proactive, hardworking and detail oriented
Ethical, honest and sound personal judgment
Curious, inquisitive and a fast learner
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative environment
