The City of Philadelphia, Department of Aviation (DOA), is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Strategy & Communications Intern to support internal and external communications efforts at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). This internship offers hands-on experience in public affairs, media monitoring, employee communications, and strategic messaging within a large municipal agency. The selected candidate will assist with media tracking, content development, promotional communications, and enhancement of internal communication platforms. Minimum Acceptable Training And Experience Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework at an accredited college or university in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Media Studies, or a closely related field. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Basic principles of public relations and strategic communications Media monitoring and news analysis practices Internal communications and employee engagement strategies Using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Developing presentations and visual communication materials Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Analyze and summarize media coverage accurately Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Work collaboratively in a team environment Additional Information Interested applicants must submit a resume and proof of current enrollment to resumes@phl.org.
