Vice President, Strategic Communications & Media (Biotech & Pharmaceutical Communications) Join our fast-growing agency at the forefront of life science communications. As a Vice President, you'll play a key role in shaping and sharing the stories of companies developing groundbreaking scientific and medical advances in biopharma. You’ll help draw attention to innovations with real potential to improve human health. We are experienced storytellers with strong backgrounds in corporate, scientific, medical, and product communications, and we serve as trusted advisors to leadership teams. You will work closely with a team of PhDs and communication strategists at LifeSci Communications, while also collaborating with specialist teams in finance, consulting, recruiting, and more as part of the broader LifeSci Partners organization. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Act as a trusted advisor to CEOs and senior leaders at life science companies, helping them think ahead, spot risks, and seize opportunities Lead the creation of clear, focused communications plans that support business, clinical, and financial goals. Guide media strategy for clients, build and maintain strong relationships with reporters and editors, and oversee media outreach by team members. Oversee the development of materials such as press releases, website copy, digital copy, briefings, and more to ensure they are scientifically accurate, compliant, and easy to understand. Work closely with visual design, digital, marketing, and analytics teams to deliver strong, coordinated programs. Maintain deep understanding of client science, competitive landscapes, and therapeutic areas; speak fluently and credibly with scientific, medical, and investor audiences. Lead and mentor senior account leaders, setting high standards for excellence in strategic thinking, media execution, and client service with high standards for quality, rigor, and professionalism Partner with agency leadership on resource planning, account staffing, and long‑term talent development. Support agency growth by helping with new business pitches and thought leadership initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years of experience in strategic communications or public relations within biotech, pharmaceutical, medtech, or healthcare sectors. Extensive earned media experience, including senior‑level relationships with financial, business, healthcare, and scientific press, a plus, but not required Demonstrated success in counseling C‑suite executives and boards in high‑stakes, high‑visibility situations. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex science into clear, compelling narratives. Deep understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, disclosure requirements, and ethical standards. Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring senior teams. Strong business acumen, with experience overseeing budgets, scopes, and long‑term client relationships. Ability to work well with colleagues in different geographic locations and across different areas of expertise.
