Event Operations Internship The Event Operations Intern will support U.S. Travel’s Events team in executing high-impact events, including IPW - the world’s leading inbound travel trade show, Destination Capitol Hill (DCH) - a premier advocacy event for the travel industry and Educational Seminar for Tourism Organizations (ESTO) - our annual learning and knowledge sharing forum for destination marketers. The Event Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams and will meaningfully contribute to projects that support the association’s mission and goals. U.S. Travel’s internship program is developed with you in mind! Designed to actively support your personal and professional development goals and provide training, at the end of a U.S. Travel internship, you will have gained actionable insights and tangible skills that support your career. Intern Will Collaborate with the Events team to support the seamless execution of departmental initiatives and programs. Develop proficiency in industry-leading event technologies while learning the standard procedures and best practices used to produce large-scale events. Support staff in various administrative and operational tasks, contributing to project milestones and helping move team goals forward. Assist with data entry and cleanup within the events registration system to ensure attendee records are accurate and up-to-date. Help prepare onsite materials, including organizing badges, lanyards, and registration packets for shipment to event venues. Contribute to special projects as assigned. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail required. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. A self-starter and team player who can work both independently and collaboratively. Strong work ethic and positive attitude; someone who is energetic, articulate, and personable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Proficient in navigating multiple digital platforms and quick to master new internal systems or software tools. Strong "customer-first" attitude, focused on providing clear, empathetic, and timely responses via email and direct interaction. Active enrollment in an undergraduate program (rising junior or senior) or graduate program at the time of internship. Other Position based in Washington, DC. Intern must be available to work from the U.S. Travel office in Washington, D.C. 1-2 days per week (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday), with option to telework 1-2 days per week (Monday/Friday). Internship Start Date: Early March Compensation: This is a paid internship compensated at $20.00-$22.00 per hour. Length of Internship: Approximately 10 weeks.
