Job Description Within Gateway Services we are building our next generation omni-commerce Gateway. We are currently hiring an SVP of Engineering to lead our teams within this domain. In this role you will lead highly technical and strategic engineering initiatives on mission-critical platforms across our team, enabling every engineer to do their best work. Your role will be tasked with solving the most complex, challenging technical problems across this team to meet our demanding needs. You will play an influential role in partnership with engineering leadership group and other cross-divisional VPs of Engineering owning strategy, technical vision and direction for your teams. Payment Gateway Channel Services Domain will encompass Payment Acceptance and Payment Services we surface to our channels which include Point of Sale, eCommerce, Partner and ISV. This will expand as our channels expand over time. To excel in this role, you will possess: With a background in engineering, you will have progressed into leadership roles, including experience managing other managers. You will have demonstrable experience in driving results through OKRs and metrics and be able to talk about the impact you have driven. Although the team size is 100+ and growing, you will have managed teams of 50+ and budgets of $5m+. Possess great instincts and ability to make good judgement calls and execute on those quickly. Possess great communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to influence across teams and with senior stakeholders. Ability to drive vision and strategy for our overall architecture to support scale, performance, resiliency and reliability of our platform. Experience with Point-of-Sale Software, SoftPos, Mobile CSDKs, Apple/Google Pay Experience with differing Point of Sale Terminal vendors such as Ingenico, Castles, Elo and Verifone Experience with Android Point of Sale Software (mPos) Experienced in API Software Design. Extremely proficient in microservices architectures, architecture patterns, having created architectures that allow services to be shipped to production multiple times a day as independently releasable microservices. An evangelist within the Point-of-Sale ecosystem who can always keep an eye on the future, and in doing so help keep our teams up to speed on the latest and greatest happenings within technology. Be able to quickly identify problems with our current state solutions and come to solutions quickly to enable critical delivery to move. Strong appreciation of Event Storming and DDD having applied these mythologies in shaping microservices architectures and teams. Experience in Cloud Native Architectures. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience 10 or more years of relevant software engineering experience Six or more years of experience leading multiple software engineering team Preferred Skills/Experience: Degree in Computer Science or Similar Technical Discipline. 15+ years’ experience having come from a software engineering background. Strong experience and understanding of Payments, Point of Sale technologies, eCommerce and Partner/ISV Verticals. Strong background in Android Software Development and Strong knowledge of the Android Point of Sale OS. Understanding of MPoS, ePos, SoftPOS. Experience in Java within low latency environments. Experience of chaos engineering and resiliency patterns that ensure high up time and resiliency.
