Overview Site Coach in the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP). Position is dependent on funding by New York State Education Department (NYSED). Responsibilities Supports the LPP Site Coordinator to provide support services to students who are eligible to participate in the LPP. Upon referral and acceptance into an LPP program, students receive services that align with their academic, social and emotional needs and the associated risk of dropping out of school. The site coach will support the Site Coordinator in providing these services, aimed at improving high school graduation rates and preparing students for postsecondary education or workforce entry Services may include academic support, individual case management, college/career preparedness programs, mentorship, experiential learning, civic engagement, family support services, and Personal Learning Plans LPP was established in 1988 under Section 612, Subdivision 6 of the Education Law to address the significant dropout rate among New York’s youth The mission of the LPP is to maximize the successful transition of middle and high school students, who are at risk of dropping out of school, into graduates who are fully prepared for the rigors of higher education and the competitive demands of a workplace Education/Experience Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or coursework towards it, at a minimum; Graduate level coursework desired At least three years of prior relevant experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills Ability to take initiative and to work independently Travel Some local travel expected Middle and high schools in NYC Maximum Salary USD $30.00/Hr. Minimum Salary USD $24.00/Hr.
