What We Offer 🎯 Why This Role Matters As a Sr. Social Media Specialist, you will provide support, oversight and coordination of public relations tactics and digital strategy and communications. You will work with executive leadership to elevate Novant Health’s thought leadership and commitment to delivering the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time, contributing to the health system’s vision of achieving that commitment to patients and families. Essential to the job are strong interpersonal, writing, project management, and communication skills. What You Will Do Collaborate with counterparts across Novant Health entities. Participates as a member of the public relations and corporate communications teams for the Novant Health system. Oversee development of an employee social media community - connecting senior executives to employees to drive engagement in key strategic initiatives and issues of importance to employees. Manage and execute the overall social media and online community strategy - to drive engagement, conversation, awareness, loyalty, and revenue for the organization. Help develop an integrated social media program that advances our brand, advertising, digital marketing, public/community relations, and employee communications. Create meaningful, relevant social media content and experiences for multiple audiences, including current and prospective patient-families, employees, community supporters, reporters, medical professionals, among others. Build engagement and loyalty across online communities, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, LinkedIn, and key influencer blogs. Maximize the potential of each channel while maintaining a consistent and unified social media presence. Function as the organization’s social media evangelist, e.g., educating, training, socializing, and reporting on how best to leverage social media to meet the organization’s business objectives. Benchmark the social media program performance, including individual campaigns and channels. Develop and execute plans to improve social media performance and effectiveness. Uses Google Analytics, Vocus and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics and continually finds ways to improve those metrics through testing and new initiatives. Evaluate, report, and develop recommendations based on engagement, conversation trends, online behaviors, satisfaction, and future behavior intention ratings (e.g., likelihood to recommend). Maintain flexibility in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple priorities with strong organizational and time‑management skills. Required What You Will Need: Four Year / Bachelors Degree. Three (3) or more years of social media experience. Highly knowledgeable on all digital media outlets including display, search, and email as well as emerging media and new technology platforms. Experienced in online media planning. Personal and professional hands-on experience with social media tools (blogs, micro-blogging, wikis, social networks, RSS). Results-oriented track record with strong understanding of research, analytics, and measurement. Proficient in the use of corporate and regional information systems. Superior written and oral communications skills. A cooperative spirit in participating as a member of a corporate public relations and social media team. Able/willing to continually improve knowledge and skills in the areas of current health care trends and issues of interest to the media and health care consumers, and keep abreast of regulatory and governing standards, corporate policies and procedures, and corporate and regional planning and development efforts. Preferred Eight (8) or more years of social media, marketing, advertising, online and/or public relations experience. Experience with corporate internal communication; strong experience collaborating with executive leadership. Experience working with a healthcare organization.
