We are now hiring a Content Editor (Podcast & Short-Form Editing) to help elevate our editing quality and performance across the ecosystem. Role Description This is not a basic editing role. We are looking for a high-level, content-minded editor who understands storytelling, pacing, retention, and what makes content perform. You will be responsible for turning long-form conversations into compelling, high-performing content across YouTube and short-form platforms, requiring minimal oversight and strong editorial judgment. The ideal candidate doesn’t just execute edits, they understand what viewers care about and know how to structure content to maximize engagement. What You'll Be Responsible For Podcast Editing & Long-Form Content Edit full podcast episodes for YouTube and distribution. Improve pacing, structure, and overall watchability. Help shape episodes into compelling viewing experiences Short Form & Storytelling Content Create high-performing podcast reels optimized for retention and watch time. Identify and extract strong narrative moments from long-form conversations. Produce short-form clips that feel native to modern platforms (TikTok, Reels, Shorts). Clips Channel & Clipping Strategy Cut 3–15 minute topic-based segments from podcast episodes. Identify strong value-driven conversation themes. Help scale our clips strategy through editorial judgment and content intuition. Cross Brand Support Support editing needs across the Hard Knocks ecosystem when needed. Must-Have Qualifications Strong editing experience in podcast, interview, or talking-head content. Deep understanding of short-form retention and pacing. Ability to independently identify strong hooks, transitions, and moments. Understanding of modern internet editing and viewer psychology. Excellent communication skills and English proficiency. Ability to work with minimal revisions and take ownership of output. Strongly Preferred (But Not Required) Experience editing for large creators, media companies, or podcast channels. Strong intuition for viral moments and social-first storytelling. Familiarity with YouTube long-form strategy and clips channels. Ability to think like a content strategist, not just an editor. Passion for business, entrepreneurship, and interview-style content. Expectations Full-time role. Remote position (global applicants welcome). High ownership and accountability. Fast communication and reliable turnaround times. You will be trusted to operate independently and raise the overall standard of editing across the brand. Compensation Salary: $65,000/year (based on experience and skill level) Performance bonuses available for high performers. Significant growth potential within a rapidly scaling media ecosystem.
