The primary objective of this position is to establish rapport, build trust, and facilitate positive change within the community. Performs duties as required to support the elimination of community-based violence. If you have any questions about this position please contact MPHD HR at (615)-340-5640. Build and maintain strong relationships with community members facing challenges such as violence, substance abuse, and other social issues. Participates in the development and promotion of programs and services that aid the community in overcoming challenges leading to limited access to resources. Participate in the dissemination of program information through attending conferences, seminars, meetings, in order to promote, publicize and gain support for the programs. Participates in the delivery, evaluation and analysis of programs and services. Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and outcomes for program evaluation purposes. Keeps abreast of current developments and trends relating to community violence prevention and intervention through collaboration with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to facilitate access to needed resources. Advocate for community members within the broader social services system to ensuring their needs are understood and addressed. Provide regular reports to supervisors and stakeholders on community engagement efforts and impact. Assist individuals in developing effective communication and conflict resolution skills. Any combination of education and experience that would prepare the incumbent to perform the duties of the position at the appropriate level. Experience in community outreach, social work, or a related field. Training in conflict resolution, mentorship, or advocacy. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of one or more behavioral, social or related sciences. Skill in working with the public. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to write clear and accurate reports. Ability to conduct interviews, assess needs, makes appropriate referrals and develop appropriate course of action. Ability to understand complex data. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within an office environment and the community. Bachelor’s Degree.
