Job Description This role will be based in Mountain View, CA. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. The Ads Marketplace Optimization team is responsible for the AI solutions for the fast growing Marketing Solutions business at LinkedIn. As a manager, you will lead a team of Machine Learning engineers to solve some of the cutting-edge AI problems that empower large & small businesses to reach, engage, and convert professional audiences at scale. This role provides a unique set of challenges w.r.t. scale and complexity for AI modeling as well as systems-infrastructure. The top areas include auction design, bidding and pacing algorithms, pricing, as well as building low-latency systems to serve these complex models in real time. LinkedIn's Machine Learning Engineers are both data/research scientists and software engineers, who develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms. Unlike other companies that separate these roles, our engineers work on projects from ideation to implementation. As an AI/ML Engineering Manager at LinkedIn you will be responsible for leading a team of Applied Researchers and Machine Learning Engineers that build and own algorithms, models, and systems that power our LinkedIn platform. Responsibilities Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team. Collaborate with application engineering, product, and partner teams to design machine learning solutions. Operate best engineering and scientific practices & processes to ensure productivity of the team and drive faster iterations via A/B experiments. Attract world class talent and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members. Qualifications Basic Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science or other technical discipline, or related practical technical experience 5+ years of related industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions 1+ years of experience in software engineering/technical engineering management and people management 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training Hands on experience in data modeling and machine learning Preferred Qualifications MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics or related fields 2+ years of experience in software engineering/technical engineering management and people management 7+ years of hands on experience in data modeling and machine learning Suggested Skills Large-scale AI problem Technical background Strategic thinking Machine Learning, Big Data and Deep Learning You will Benefit from our Culture We strongly believe in the well-being of our employees and their families. The pay range for this role is $170,000-$277,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
