Load Planner (Supply Chain/Logistics)

Position Summary: Load Planners coordinate all processes and functions of freight movement and customer service. Load Planners process customer orders, plan & optimize shipments into loads using Transportation Manager System, tender freight to third-party carriers, update the Transportation Manager System with current shipment information and respond to internal and external customer inquiries. Load Planners also provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking, process over-sight, auditing, researching, and troubleshooting operational issues or functions. Shift: Monday thru Friday 10:00pm - 6:00am (these hours may fluctuate slightly) Major Responsibilities: - Load-building - Adding shipments to a load, rating a load, securing carrier coverage and appointment setting. Monitoring and resolving MCP email messages. Identify shipping opportunities for improved performance such as: truckload multi-stops, consolidated shipments, etc. - Provide excellent Customer Service to assigned account(s) - Call Center and shared email box responsibility - Provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking shipments, process over-sight, auditing, load exception investigation, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions. - Recover customer loads - Complete daily logs and trackers.
