Kennywood's rich history spans generations of good times and extends beyond the traditional summer season with popular Halloween and Holiday events. We are currently looking for a: Kennywood - Content Creator Roles & Responsibilities: The Content Creator generates brand awareness and sales through the creation of content. Support guest communications via phone, email, and social media. Assist with marketing and sales events as needed. The ideal candidate will be a guest-centric creative thinker with excellent writing and branding skills. The ability to think creatively, meet deadlines and handle pressure during issues management and crisis situations is vital to success. Success in this position will result in increased reach and awareness of the parks, leading to increased attendance and revenue. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of new and existing marketing tactics, demonstrate strong writing abilities and creative thinking, and exhibit a passion for guest service and entertainment. Working on numerous projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, being a team player, and exhibiting a results-oriented mindset are critical to success. Roles & Responsibilities: Create social media content for Sandcastle social channels. Work with other content hosts and leaders to plan and develop new content ideas and find trends to integrate into content to support business goals Film and edit photo and video content Support Marketing team on major campaigns as needed including park opening, special events, group sales and other important promotions Provide exceptional, friendly guest service on social channels and in person with a high level of responsiveness and attention to detail Assist with customer service concerns and complaints; escalate serious complaints to leadership, as needed Maintain composure and a high degree of professionalism when handling and/or responding to negative feedback Support Marketing team by responding to incoming social media messages, calls, voicemails, and emails in a timely manner to ensure prompt response to all customers Assist Sales and Marketing team to execute special events on select weekends and holidays Assist and support with these responsibilities at Kennywood Amusement Park as needed to drive Kennywood marketing plan success, along with attendance and revenue; plus to further develop consistencies between both parks Communicate well with guests, fellow employees and management Perform in a positive, friendly, professional and alert manner Gain knowledge and understanding of the park and departmental procedures. Maintain a high level of professionalism in both appearance and conduct while representing the park All other duties assigned by leadership Education and Experience: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered Currently majoring in (or graduated with) with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related discipline preferred At least six months of previous content creator or social media coordinator experience for at least one other brand entity is a major plus Previous amusement park, theme park, or water park experience a plus Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Need a valid driver’s license and car; this position required travel between Sandcastle and Kennywood to support initiatives such as attraction openings and special events (approx. 10-15 minute drive) Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner Ability to handle high-pressure situations, meet the demands of constant deadlines and coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Ability to write content in a clear, concise and professional manner Ability to directly engage with customers and other web media resources Ability to effectively respond to negative online (or in-person) feedback without taking it personally or conveying negative emotion Basic knowledge of content creation (photo and video), social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter and LinkedIn; plus web/SEO strategy and camera equipment. Experience in Canva is a plus. Must possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently Ability Take initiative and execute plans to accomplish strategic objectives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, sometimes with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements: Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, while using a computer Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for long periods of time throughout the day Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 20 pounds or more Working Conditions: This role will be based in an office setting with frequent interaction with other outdoor park locations. This role will have time spent at both Sandcastle and Kennywood Frequent exposure to variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments Team member benefits: Working at Kennywood is about making people happy!
