Join our Design Research team in Amazon Delivery to push the boundaries of hardware design in challenging settings, using state-of-the-art software and robotics developments to build new forms of machinery and human interfaces. This Industrial Design role seeks a candidate to work with our engineering, operations, manufacturing, and UX design teams on the framing and definition of current and future product opportunities. Successful candidates will demonstrate a desire to experiment and work well with others. Key job responsibilities - Use 2D and 3D tools to create designs that combine product appeal, functionality, and manufacturability - Work with multi-dimensional constraints to find a workable design solution - Design and fabricate compelling functional and/or appearance prototypes for review by team leaders and executive staff - Present to product and program stakeholders and build alignment About the team The Amazon Delivery Experience design studio is an interdisciplinary team covering visual, UX, industrial and communication design. Our studio encompasses all aspects of Amazon delivery, from items being sent for shipping, the actual delivery process, all the way to customers indicating their delivery preferences. Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related experience - Experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work - Experience in management of engineering design projects Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or related field - Experience designing products with interactive elements - Mastery of a variety of visualization methods - Proven ability to write detailed design documentation Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
