Job Summary

Own the festival’s digital voice across live social, content creation, and performance reporting to move ticket sales and grow the audience during Boomtown’s peak period.

  • Live event ownership: real-time social coverage and reactive messaging during the festival.
  • Content engine: self-produced high quality image/video content feeding social channels.
  • Performance discipline: analytics and reporting to track KPIs and drive optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Full scope of Boomtown's digital communications - social media output, paid digital campaigns, community management, and performance reporting - from now through to post-event wrap.
  • Business-as-usual cover role with real creative scope.
  • Create content yourself, shooting and editing image and video to a high standard, while also being confident managing the broader comms operation: scheduling, copywriting, reactive messaging, ad campaign management, and reporting against KPIs.
  • During the live festival (12-16 August), you'll be embedded in the onsite comms operation, working round-the-clock shifts covering live social media, app push notifications, reactive communications, and coordinating with a substantial content and media team on the ground.
  • You won’t be doing it alone, there’s a strong production, film, and photography team around you, but you need to be able to do the work yourself and lead the digital output with confidence.
  • Day-to-day social media management across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and YouTube.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities for app content and campaigns.
  • Original content creation, self-shot and self-edited image and video for social platforms.
  • Paid digital advertising campaigns across Meta, TikTok, and Google, including budget management.
  • Conversion-focused campaigns supporting ticket sales targets.

Requirements

  • Solid social media marketing and social media optimization (SMO) skills, with experience managing brand channels and campaigns.
  • Strong communication and writing abilities, including clear, engaging copy tailored to different platforms and audiences.
  • Experience in content strategy, including planning calendars, aligning content with brand goals, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to improve performance.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, live-event or entertainment environment.
  • Knowledge of festival culture, underground music, or live events marketing is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort working on-site in City of Bristol and collaborating in person with diverse creative and production teams.
  • Previous experience in digital marketing, community management, or content production is preferred.
