Bittersweet is seeking an employee to work as Direct Support Professional to help enrich lives and make a difference through teaching, mentoring and positively impacting the lives of individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. Availability Requirements Below: The Second Friday of each month from 4-9PM, most Wednesday evenings during the academic year, Sunday and Monday afternoon/evenings, the last Tuesday of each month, and occasional Thursday and Friday evenings. Most events are local to the Toledo and surrounding areas with occasional events held in Whitehouse/Waterville. No experience necessary, we provide PAID training. Employee Benefits/Pay: $16.50 per hour + 2nd shift differential of $1.50 on weekdays + $2.50 on Weekends! 5 Day Mandatory Orientation ( Split to 2 days per week) Access to payroll funds early Very Flexible! 3-4 SRP Events each Month! ERN (Employee Resource Network) Member with a Success Coach & EAP Program Responsibilities and Duties The DSP will need to assist with facilitation of a variety of programs and events, including Friday Night Fun, Social Skills Program, parent nights, social events, and more. This includes leading small group activities, providing supports, and observing participant progress. Practice risk management and ensure the safety of the participants at all events and programs. Provide some guidance for the volunteers in this program. Qualifications and Skills Valid Driver's License & Auto Insurance High School Diploma or GED Possess and uses empathy in all actions and interactions Effectively work in teams with co-workers and participants Must have open availability and able to work Evenings and Weekends.
