Employment Type Staff Internal Job Category Exempt (Staff) Full-Time Department Office of Dean CEMB Hours 40 Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Position purpose: The Director of Programs and Community will serve as a primary steward of the Center for Mental Health in Entertainment's mission and vision, shaping strategic programs designed for Belmont students and the Nashville entertainment community. The Director will contribute to the development, implementation, and management of all the Center's mental health and wellness programs and resources. Essential Functions: Develop annual and long-term programming goals that address the Center's mission and vision. Actively cultivate strong relationships with internal and external partners, including industry professionals, non-profits and mental health providers. Assist in the development of curricular and co-curricular mental health programming that addresses unique challenges of the entertainment industry, focused on the whole person (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual); Engage key internal and eternal partners in the classroom as well as for the industry. Define and develop the Community Resource Center; Build systems and processes, and provide oversight to ensure high quality referrals. Develop and execute several annual conferences and workshops for industry professionals, providing leadership in partnership with the Executive Director. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Personally committed to the mission and values of Belmont University Demonstrates passion and advocacy for mental health and wellness Experience working with entertainment professionals or related industry Servant leader dedicated to building and maintaining strong culture Demonstrates solid emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with all levels of leadership internally and externally Required Education BA required, Master's in Mental Health Counseling or similar field preferred. Required Experience 10+ years experience in entertainment, higher education, or related industries. Professionals with counseling experience preferred. The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University. Belmont University participates in E-Verify.
