Director of E-Commerce Operations Location: Remote Reports to: Head of Growth Status: Full-Time Compensation: $130,000–$150,000 About Bask & Lather Co. As we scale across DTC and marketplaces, we are investing in operators who own execution, move quickly, and keep the digital business running cleanly and efficiently. Role Overview The Director of E-Commerce Operations is a hands-on execution leader responsible for directing, optimizing, and maintaining the day-to-day performance of Bask & Lather’s e-commerce ecosystem across Shopify Plus and key marketplaces. This role is not an oversight, advisory, or growth marketing position. It is designed for a senior e-commerce operator who is deeply involved in execution, site readiness, CRO implementation, merchandising, promotions, launches, and marketplace operations. This role ensures that e-commerce execution is fast, accurate, optimized, and reliable, and that issues are caught and resolved before they impact customers or revenue. Key Responsibilities E-Commerce Execution & Performance Direct daily execution of e-commerce operations across Shopify Plus and marketplaces Own site readiness, QA, merchandising, promotions, launches, and ongoing optimization Monitor and improve conversion rate, AOV, retention, and customer experience Identify and resolve issues proactively before they impact customers or revenue Oversee performance against targets and flag risks or opportunities to leadership Shopify Plus Ownership (Hands-On) Own the Shopify Plus site end to end, including: PDPs, collections, navigation, merchandising Bundles, subscriptions, upsells, cart and checkout Post-purchase flows and site content updates Personally involved in CRO execution, testing setup, QA, and rollout Ensure site stability and performance during launches, promotions, and traffic spikes CRO & Optimization Execute a structured CRO and experimentation roadmap in partnership with Growth Implement and QA A/B tests, UX improvements, and funnel optimizations Use GA4, Shopify Analytics, and CRO tools to inform execution priorities Track and report performance impact from tests and optimizations Marketplaces & Social Commerce Operations Direct execution for Amazon, Walmart and TikTok Shop operations Ensure listings, content, pricing, and promotions are accurate and optimized Monitor marketplace performance and operational health Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to resolve marketplace issues quickly Launches, Promotions & Readiness Own e-commerce execution for product launches and major promotions Ensure all assets, pricing, inventory signals, and site elements are ready before go-live QA the end-to-end customer experience ahead of key moments Coordinate with CX and Operations to ensure support and fulfillment readiness Cross-Functional Execution Partner Work closely with Growth, Brand, Paid Media, Operations, Product, and CX teams Translate strategy into executable e-commerce actions Escalate decisions when needed, but independently own execution Hold agencies and vendors accountable to execution standards Reporting & Operating Rhythm Maintain dashboards and reporting on site and marketplace performance Communicate issues, wins, and risks clearly and proactively Establish consistent operating cadences for site health and execution reviews Qualifications 8+ years of e-commerce experience with hands-on execution responsibility 3+ years operating and scaling Shopify Plus (required) Proven success improving conversion rate, AOV, and retention in a DTC environment Strong marketplace experience (Amazon required, TikTok Shop preferred) Deep experience with CRO, A/B testing, merchandising, and pricing execution Data-driven, decisive, and operationally strong Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment Able to lead independently and execute without excessive oversight This Role Is Not a Fit If Your background is primarily growth marketing, paid media, or performance marketing You prefer high-level oversight over hands-on execution You have not personally owned site readiness, QA, and launches What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days Clear ownership of e-commerce execution and site operations Cleaner launches, stronger QA discipline, and fewer escalations CRO initiatives actively improving performance Strong command of Shopify Plus and marketplace operations Leadership confidence that e-commerce performance is directed, optimized, and under control Bask & Lather Co. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
