The Director of Commercial Finance Forecasting and Planning will serve as a strategic business partner to the Chief Commercial Officer, driving day-to-day commercial activity and financial performance. We are seeking a leader to continue to usher in the best-in-class software & sales metrics for our growing organization. This role will forecast and analyze key financial metrics, including bookings, ARR, revenue, and expense for software revenue and sales & marketing expense. This role will also partner closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, sales operations, marketing, and other internal organizations. Responsibilities Own forecast and budget for Certara’s Software Revenue & Sales and Marketing Expenses Provide timely, accurate, and actionable financial reporting to support decision-making. Monitor and analyze the financial performance of commercial operations, identifying key drivers and areas for improvement. Lead the review of business plans and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities. Drive integrated business planning Drive continuous improvement projects to improve data quality, report automation, and process streamlining Establish and track sales productivity metrics and improve forecasting by analyzing sales, tracking variances, and providing insights. Prepare materials for board meetings and other presentation support. Support commission calculations and design of sales compensation as required. Qualifications Minimum of 9 years of experience in finance, including at least two years in a management position and a proven track record of driving change. At least 2-3 years of experience operating in a SaaS environment for a global software company. Sound understanding of the SaaS business model and key metrics (ARR, ACV, CAC, etc.) Proven experience in a senior-level commercial finance role, with a strong understanding of revenue recognition policies. Extensive experience with presentations to senior management, with extraordinary detail orientation and strong data visualization skills Experience with Salesforce required.
