Job Summary

Own the visual narrative for DSIT’s digital channels by delivering bold, brand-aligned graphics that translate science and technology stories into accessible, public-facing content while collaborating with the Digital Communications team to elevate campaigns.

  • Own and deliver bold visuals and branding across social platforms to tell the department’s science-and-technology stories.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain design excellence and translate complex ideas into clear, engaging narratives.
  • Support cross-government campaigns and ensure consistent branding across channels.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Form the visual identity of our department’s brand and influence the creative direction for campaigns that tell the stories of how science and technology have the power to impact millions of lives.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders and support the delivery of high-quality, innovative design solutions across a variety of platforms, with a primary focus on creating content for our digital social media channels and help the implementation of cross-government campaigns.
  • As a Digital Content Producer, design and manage clear, bold graphics and branding that is easy to understand and strongly associated with the department and sub departments.
  • Produce graphic design that can target science and technology audiences while also appealing to the general public.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Communications team within DSIT’s Communications Directorate and contribute to graphic design best practice to maintain the department as a centre for excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience in motion graphics and animation as a graphic designer
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of digital, motion graphics and multimedia projects demonstrating high impact, digital-first creative solutions
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other related applications
  • Brand Strategy: Understanding of brand strategy and translating complex ideas into visually compelling narratives
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for layout, typography, and design consistency
  • Project Management: Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and lead multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership: Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Creative Vision: Passion for design with ability to think innovatively and deliver creative solutions

Preferred

  • Working knowledge in design applications outside of the Adobe Suite.
