Akkodis is seeking a Construction Project Manager for a contract position with a client in Louisville, Kentucky. Length of assignment: 1 year + possibly 24 months Days/Hours: Mon- Fri 6:30am-3:30pm Rate Range: $60.00/hour to $65.00/hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Duties: The role is responsible for managing complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and multi-trade construction projects through all five PMI phases—Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing. This leader ensures projects are delivered safely, on scope, on budget, and on schedule, while driving communication between design, procurement, field teams, and operations. The role includes direct supervision of Design-Build firm(s), as well as significant responsibility for budget performance, team communication, and project execution excellence. Individual must be able to communicate effectively, and coordinate plans and outcomes with multiple functions in a complex matrixed organization including Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Operations, EHS/Safety, Sourcing, and Quality. Construction Project Manager Job Responsibilities Include Develop project charters, scopes, Work Breakdown Structures, stakeholder registers, and communication plans. Participate in handoff meetings; lead project kickoff sessions. Establish project schedules, deliverables, and alignment with contractual requirements. Lead field operations, subcontractors, material procurement, and equipment planning including but not limited to daily safety and gemba walk meetings. Ensure on-site safety, quality assurance, and adherence to company standards. Manage documentation, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Coordinate and sign off safe work plans (SWP) and Hot Work permits in conjunction with EHS. Be direct point of contract liaison between successful Design-Build firm and client. Track and analyze project performance metrics including: cost variance, schedule variance, earned value, rework, labor forecasts, cash flow, and margin performance. Identify risks and corrective actions using Excel’s tracking and job-costing systems. Conduct regular project review meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Trace and review VAVE (Value add Value Engineering) opportunities and schedule compression. Review and track VE (value engineering) credits. Lead coaching sessions, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Report out to client leadership on progress status, as well as raise safety, schedule or execution concerns. Oversee punch list completion, inspections, turnover documentation, and final financial reconciliation. Conduct lessons-learned sessions and integrate improvements into company processes. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred. PMP preferred, but not required Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience At least 3 years managing multimillion-dollar MEP or multi-trade projects Proficiency with MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Sage, BuildOps, or similar platforms Strong knowledge of scheduling, procurement, risk management, and cost control Understanding of OSHA, NEC, and industry code requirements Pay Details: $50.00 to $65.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
