Job Summary

Own storefront operations and cross-functional collaboration to curate inclusive merchandise, launch new designs, and promote association initiatives across events and partnerships.

Storefront management: product organization, site design, and promotion.
Merchandise development: create original items and beta-test quality.
Marketing and collaboration: plan promotions and coordinate with committees and operations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Manage the storefront, including product organization, website design, and promotion.
Strive for a variety of merchandise. Ensure the offerings are inclusive and avoid gender-based product labels and organization.
Develop original merchandise that promotes the Association’s brand and appeals to the membership at large.
Beta test new merchandise designs to ensure products meet quality standards.
Support event committees posting merchandise to the storefront, including reviewing designs, cross training volunteers and organizing/publishing design collections.
Establish and implement a marketing plan, which includes promoting special deals.
Attend all committee meetings and provide insight into how best the committee can collaborate to promote opportunities and initiatives for the Association.
Coordinate with the operations director on any financial and vendor-related issues.
Facilitate an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of organizational branding and how best to communicate ideas and initiatives.
Ability to think creatively and deliver impressive concepts that align with Association branding guidelines.
Membership in the association, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
Familiarity with the Association.
Ability to adhere to deadlines.

Preferred

A fluent knowledge of current design tools and software.
Proficiency with Threadless Artist Shops (or similar storefronts).
Work experience in a marketing, communications, or public relations environment.
Ability to produce and organize website content.
Ability to work with project management/team communication platforms such as Slack, Clickup, etc.
Google Drive proficiency.
