The City of Sunny Isles Beach was incorporated on June 16, 1997. Sunny Isles Beach operates on a Commission/City Manager form of government. The commission consists of a mayor and four commissioners who serve as the policy-making body of the city. The city manager ensures that policies, directives, resolutions and ordinances adopted by the city commission are enforced and implemented. The city manager is also charged with the daily operations of the city. The city's dedicated team of employees throughout various departments ensure that our city runs efficiently and is responsive to the needs of our residents and visitors.Sunny Isles Beach has sustained financial stability throughout the years, while maintaining high quality levels of service, thanks to fiscal prudence and great leadership.Located on a barrier island in northeast Miami-Dade County, Florida, the city is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west. A Grade-A School, numerous green spaces and parks, weekly community events and programs, and a beautiful, ocean-side location are just a few of the reasons the residential population continues to grow. Almost one million vacationers visit Sunny Isles Beach annually to enjoy the 2 mile-long, fine sand beach, luxury hotels, and abundant shopping and dining options.
