Job Summary

You will own the overall client programs from strategy through delivery, managing P&L, growing accounts, and shepherding multi-disciplinary work with a senior client-facing focus.

  • Own the book P&L and growth through renewals and expansions
  • Lead executive-level workshops, creative briefs, and program-level planning
  • Direct multi-discipline teams across strategy, content, media, and digital to deliver on the plan

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Client strategy. The partners set the top-line vision; you make the strategic calls that shape the program, run discovery and the messaging and brand workshops with the founder and leadership team, and write the story strategy and creative brief the team builds against.
  • The P&L. You carry the number for your book: utilization, scope, and margin against plan, plus the change-order and re-scope conversations that protect both the relationship and the firm.
  • Growth of the book. Renew and expand your accounts. Spot the next workstream and the adjacent problem the client hasn't named yet, and turn a strong engagement into a bigger, longer one.
  • The client relationship. You are the primary contact and the person clients trust to make the call. You manage expectations, anticipate needs, and deliver hard news yourself.
  • The program and the plan. Turn strategy into a structured program: pillars, workstreams, sequence, deliverables, milestones, and budget, whether it's a category build, an anthem film, an advocacy campaign, or all three at once.
  • The creative brief and the notes. Turn strategic intent into briefs the Creative Director and editors build from, sit in on cuts, and hold the work to both the creative bar and the brief. You are a real editorial voice, not a messenger.
  • The digital and channel work. Direct and quality-check the paid-search, paid-social, and programmatic output against the strategy and the numbers, and scope how the digital workstream connects to the narrative.
  • Media and distribution vendors. Identify, vet, and brief the outside partners BA doesn't run in-house: direct mail, specialty and political media buyers, and broadcast placement.
  • The content and earned-media engine. Keep monthly production moving across short-form video, motion graphics, designed posts, and op-eds, timed to the news hooks and legislative or market moments that matter, and coordinate the earned-media and surrogate work.
  • Execution and the calendar. Convert the plan into motion, manage review and approval cycles so films and campaigns don't stall, surface risk early, and keep work shipping at the pace these engagements demand.

Requirements

  • 12 to 15 years in account leadership, client strategy, or integrated program management, at an agency, an in-house marketing team, or a campaign, including time carrying a book and its number.
  • Commercial ownership of client accounts: a P&L or a revenue and margin target, scope and change orders, and a record of growing existing clients.
  • Fluency across the disciplines BA delivers: brand and messaging, film and content, earned media, and paid digital, enough to set direction and then author a program that uses all of them.
  • Comfort facilitating and directing senior people, including running a messaging or brand workshop with a founder and leadership team.
  • A real editorial and creative eye: you can give a film editor a useful note and make a draft op-ed publishable.
  • Enough digital and media literacy to direct specialists and vendors, from paid search and social to direct mail, specialty media, and broadcast.
  • A track record of running several complex engagements at once without dropping details.
  • Executive presence with founders and senior clients: you can earn a CEO's trust, set direction, and deliver hard news.
  • Comfort being senior and hands-on at the same time. This is a boutique; there is no layer between you and the work.
  • Depth in one or more of our core verticals: health tech and biotech, food systems and agriculture, political campaigns and advocacy, or venture-backed high-growth companies. Range across several is an advantage.
