Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Senior Director of Girl Experience (SDGX) to develop and implement programming team goals, strategies, and accountability measures that support the council’s strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with program staff to deliver high-quality programs aligned with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), including:
  • Lead the planning and execution of council Signature Events and Encampments (Outdoor Related) with the guidance of the SDGX and STEAM Manager.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver outdoor programs, events, and activities aligned with GSLE outcomes and badge requirements.
  • Support the execution of council-wide outdoor events, encampments, day camps, and select summer camp programming.
  • Facilitate hands-on outdoor experiences that build confidence, leadership, environmental stewardship, and life skills.
  • Assist in implementing progressive outdoor program pathways for girls across all grade levels.
  • Assist with all marketing, programmatic, and policy/ procedure research and documentation.
  • Monitoring and responding to emails in the program inbox.
  • Assisting with council fund development programs and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Outdoor Education, Recreation, Youth Development, Animal Science, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in program delivery, outdoor education, youth programming, or partnership coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and partnerships simultaneously.
  • Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Travel throughout the council jurisdiction up to 20% of the time.
  • Capability to provide your own transportation and maintain a valid operator's license.

Preferred

  • Experience working with animals, farms, outdoor education centers, or similar environments is preferred.
