Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Write compelling captions and video scripts that reflect our brand voice
  • Shoot high-quality photos and videos at events, facilities, and partner locations
  • Edit Reels, short-form videos, and other social content from concept to final cut
  • Design graphics and visual assets for social media posts and campaigns
  • Attend and cover live events, competitions, and on-location shoots across Southern California and beyond
  • Collaborate with our Director of Marketing and Creative Director to shape content strategy
  • Bring original ideas to the table, this role has real room to explore, grow, and make your mark
  • Track, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics including reach, engagement, follower growth, and content effectiveness
  • Use reporting insights to inform and improve future content strategy
  • Stay current on AI tools, social media trends, and emerging platforms
  • Communicate proactively on project status and timelines
  • Participate in weekly video calls with the team
  • Occasionally join us at the office for collaboration and planning

Requirements

  • Based in or near San Diego, Temecula, Escondido, or greater Southern California
  • Proven experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and similar platforms
  • A genuine love for social media and passion for building brands people care about
  • Strong writing skills, including captions and video scripts
  • Proficiency in video editing software (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar)
  • Ability to create graphics and visual assets (Canva, Adobe Express, Photoshop, or similar)
  • Ability to shoot professional-quality photos and videos
  • A sharp creative eye with a strong sense of visual storytelling
  • Clear, reliable communication on project status and deadlines
  • Comfortable traveling to events and off-site locations as needed
  • Up to date on AI-powered content tools and how to apply them effectively
  • Self-motivated and able to manage your schedule in a remote environment

Preferred

  • SEO knowledge or experience with tools like Semrush or Ahrefs
  • Broader digital marketing experience (email marketing, paid social, Google Ads, etc.)
  • Webflow experience for web design and/or development
  • Graphic design skills for broader company projects beyond social
  • Experience growing an engaged social media following from the ground up
  • Pation for robotics, STEM, or emerging technology
